Initial Fleet Service
The baseline visit that sets up every recurring maintenance program with Gauge Fleet Service.
Most of our recurring fleet customers begin with an Initial Fleet Service. It is the visit that establishes a maintenance baseline for every machine: clean, inspected, documented, and ready for a recurring service schedule.
The initial visit gives us — and you — a clear picture of where each machine stands today. Existing wear, leaks, missed service, undercarriage condition, and cosmetic issues are all identified, photographed where useful, and reported. From there, recurring maintenance keeps the fleet from ever drifting back into that condition.
This is how professional fleet maintenance actually works. You cannot maintain what has not been documented.
Complete Equipment Detailing
Full exterior detail and cleaning on every machine so operators, inspectors, and future recurring visits are starting from a clean baseline. Clean equipment is also safer and easier to inspect accurately.
Degreasing
Undercarriage, engine bay, and component degreasing removes years of grease buildup that hides leaks, worn hoses, and undercarriage wear. Once the machine is clean, real inspection can happen.
Initial Inspection
Walk-around inspection covering fluids, hydraulics, hoses, fittings, tracks, undercarriage, electrical, batteries, belts, cooling, and leaks. Everything gets a hands-on look while the machine is clean and accessible.
Equipment Documentation
Machine make, model, serial number, hours, and current configuration recorded so recurring service is tied to accurate equipment records — critical for warranty tracking and resale documentation.
Condition Reporting
Written condition report for every machine covering what was found, what was addressed on the visit, and what needs follow-up. This becomes the starting point for every maintenance record going forward.
Preventive Maintenance Recommendations
Based on the initial inspection, we recommend a preventive maintenance schedule, service intervals, and any repairs that should be addressed before or shortly after the recurring program begins.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to sign up for a recurring program?
No. Some customers do an Initial Fleet Service as a one-time reset. It is designed to lead into recurring maintenance, but the initial visit stands on its own.
How long does an Initial Fleet Service take?
It depends on fleet size, machine condition, and how much cleanup and inspection is required. We provide a clear scope and timeline before scheduling.
What happens after the initial visit?
You get a condition report on every machine and a recommended recurring maintenance program tailored to your fleet.
